Mrs. Neetu M. Bhagotia

Mrs Neetu M.Bhagotia is an officer of the Indian Foreign Service with more than a decade’s diplomatic experience. As a career diplomat, she has served in various capacities in Indian Missions in Thimphu and Moscow.

In her stints at the Ministry of External Affairs, New Delhi she has worked in the Western Europe, Central Europe and Policy Planning & Research Divisions of the Ministry of External Affairs. She has been associated extensively with India’s engagements with European countries like the UK, France, Portugal, Italy, Denmark, Greece, Switzerland, Poland etc. Her portfolio at the Indian Embassies included political, administrative and press & information desks. At the Indian Embassy in Thimphu she was also the Secretary of the Indian-Bhutan Foundation, a foundation established in 2003 which organizes activities in educational, cultural, scientific, and technical fields with the aim of enhancing  people-to-people exchanges.

Before joining as the Consul General of India at CGI, Brisbane, she served as the Regional Passport Officer, Jaipur from April 2021 to March 2024 wherein she was responsible for the Passport and Consular services of the Ministry of External Affairs for the entire State of Rajasthan.

She obtained Graduate degree from Maitreyi College, New Delhi and Post Graduate Degree in Political Science from Rajasthan University before joining the Indian Foreign Service in 2007.

She speaks Hindi, English and Russian. She likes reading, yoga and playing badminton.

She is married and has a daughter.
